The Flying H Family

Harlan and Sharon Ray, (H and Shay as they are called), have owned and operated The Flyin H Land and Cattle, LLC, (Commonly called the Flyin H Ranch), since December 1995, and it was initially used for cattle and hay production. In 1977, H & Shay married where she grew up, Jacksonville, AR. H was a US Air Force Pilot based at Little Rock Air Force Base. Sharon was in the Arkansas Army National Guard and was blessed to serve on active duty throughout her career. They both served tours of duty in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Pentagon, and Israel, where daughter Lindsay was born. When H retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel, they moved back to his East Texas roots, where he began ranching, investing in real estate, and a 20-year career in commercial aviation piloting B-747s worldwide. He was also an instructor and check airman at the company training center in Miami, FL. In 2015, toward the end of his aviation career, H & Shay began looking for additional uses for the ranch. They saw an opportunity to put Shay's talent for entertaining, hosting, and love for people, into making a place for folks to come, wed, party, play and stay on a working ranch. So, they converted part of the ranch into an events center for weddings, concerts, corporate events, parties, and family reunions. They also purchased and remodeled some nearby cabins and offered them as vacation cabin rentals. Towards the end of 2020, the family saw an opportunity for another aspect of the ranch in the way of The Garden Pub. Opening one day soon, The Garden Pub will be home to some of the finest home brews and meads in North East Texas. Savannah's Events is named for their first granddaughter, Savannah, and likewise, Cora's Cabins after granddaughter number two, Cora. Lindsay and her husband, Scott Brown, live on the ranch and are highly involved in the business. Lindsay takes care of all the marketing, advertising, bookkeeping, and social media... when she is not being wife and mommy of four. In May of 2019, the Browns welcomed twins, Myka (pronounced Micah) and Maci into the world. Scott is a Health and Safety manager for Wayne Sanderson Farms in Tyler and assists where needed on the ranch. H, Shay, and family welcome you to the Flyin H. Enjoy!
